CMHT Walworth is looking to recruit a dynamic, creative, and hard-working B6 Occupational Therapist to join the team for a secondment post Secondment period will be from now until August 30th 2024. working with CMHT Walworth on a full-time basis for that period.
CMHT Walworth is a multidisciplinary team working with clients based in the North areas of Southwark - living with a range of Serious Mental Illness and Mood and Personality Disorders. The team works collectively to support clients with their recovery goals.
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be enthusiastic about this client group and committed to working with both a recovery and rehabilitation approach. They will have the opportunity to work with service users in a variety of community-based settings. It is an opportunity to develop assessment and intervention skills, to work closely with the care coordinators in the team, and to develop shared care plans that address any occupational needs. There is also scope to develop the OT groups currently on offer for community clients, and to enrich and adapt these whenever the opportunity arises.

Essential
- Registered Occupational Therapist or equivalent relevant qualification
- Post registration experience as an OT at Band 5 level in mental health or Learning disabilities (2)
Desirable
- Membership of OT professional body and / or special interest group
Experience

- Post registration experience as an OT
- Working in groups / Extensive clinical experience including individual and group wor
- Working with mental health service users (pre or post qualification)
- Advising and supporting junior staff / Experience of supervising junior staff and student
- Experience of audit, research and clinical governance procedures and their application in practice

- Practice Placement Educators course
- Experience of working in an inner-city, multi-cultural environment
- Experience of working with people with challenging behaviours
Knowledge and skills

- Broad / high level understanding of Mental Health disorders and treatment models
