This is an exciting opportunity for any aspiring nurse leaders to develop skills in leadership and management. Working closely with the lead nurse and service manager, the successful candidate will be responsible for supporting oversight of the day to day running of the nursing teams within the urgent treatment centre and GPOOH. There will be an expectation that the candidate will provide clinical cover when required in both the urgent treatment centre and GP Out of Hours. Leadership and management experience is preferable. Emergency DepartmentTriage experience or working within an acute setting would be of great advantage but not essential as full training and support with be given. Main duties of the job

The Urgent Treatment Centre which is co-located within a busy Emergency Department is looking to expand their existing team of Band 6 Nurses.If you are a highly motivated individual and feel like a fresh challenge, then this may be the role for you. Applicants should have the ability to work autonomously whilst possessing excellent communication skills. You will also be responsible for supporting the team to manage the Single Point of Access lines which allows all professionals to share a single point of contact through our triage system which facilitates urgent and non-urgent referrals direct to specialty. This process enables patients to receive the right care, at the right time, by the right professionals Emergency Department Triage experience or working within an acute setting would be of great advantage bu This is a great opportunity to be working within a dynamic, friendly and expanding team with opportunities for further professional development in a supportive learning environment This post is part time and the post holder will be expected to work alongside the lead nurse and will deputise in her absence.

Job responsibilities

Main duties will include supporting the lead nurse in the daily running of the UTC and GPOOH nursing teams - coordinating rotas, staffing, sickness and absence management. There will be an expectation to provide some clinical cover at times when the service demands.

Full training will be provided. This is a great development opportunity

Qualifications/Previous Experiance

Essential

  • Minimum of 2 years post qualification experience in acute, emergency and /or primary care/community setting

  • Previous triage nurse experience
