In this post you will be an autonomous practitioner, taking a lead in coordinating and providing a highly specialist physiotherapy service to school aged children with profound and multiple difficulties attending Harrow Secondary Special schools for children with severe learning disabilities. Additionally, you will be responsible for providing a highly specialist physiotherapy service to children and young people who do not have an educational placement. You will also have a role in coordinating the DCD and Aquatic therapy services, supporting other staff and working with colleagues in Occupational Therapy to provide assessment and treatment programmes.
Main duties of the job

To lead the transition process for students transitioning from special schools to FE colleges and adult services
To provide line management to Physiotherapists and Assistants ensuring supervision, appraisal and development

- Children and young people with neurodisability including physical difficulties and SEN who do not have an educational placement or those attending out of borough schools.
- Children with DCD
- Children attending the aquatic therapy service

Training & Qualifications
Essential
- Recognised Physiotherapy Degree and Registered Member of Chartered Society of Physiotherapists (CSP)
- Health Professions Council (HPC) - Licence to Practice
- Evidence of CPD in portfolio including attendance of specialist short courses relevant to children to children with disabilities e.g. Bobath / Aquatic therapy
Desirable
- Good written and spoken English
- Excellent interpersonal skills and established negotiation and problem solving skills - including observation, listening and empathy skills
- Demonstrates good analytical and reflection skills and well developed concentration skills
- Good organisational skills and ability to work in an unpredictable environment and to prioritise own workload and others
