We are looking to recruit a number of committed Band 5 Registered Mental Health Nurses & Band 5 Registered Mental Health Social Workers to join our Greater Manchester Mental Health All age 24/7 Crisis Helpline Service. This is a unique opportunity to gain experience under the umbrella of urgent care, although urgent care experience would be desirable, in supporting service users presenting with a range of mental health difficulties and associated distress to develop psychological engagement, intervention skills and signpost to a service appropriate to meet the needs of the service user.
The post-holders will be supported to provide an empathic, person-centred, biopsychosocial, and trauma-informed approach when taking calls on the helpline, as well as delivering low level brief psychological interventions as required.
Successful candidates will become proficient in identifying and responding to risk and safe-guarding indicators.
Main duties of the job
The post-holders may also expect to be involved in multi-disciplinary and multi-agency liaison and other organisational activities. They will receive regular management supervision and reflective practice, both individual and group. Please note that shift work, including working unsociable hours, will be required in the delivery of this work.
The successful candidates will have completed their preceptorship and be at least 12 months post qualified and be registered with their recognised professional body.
