We have a vacancy in our Oncology rotation, part of our recently developed band 6 Dietetic rotational scheme. As a rotational dietitian, you will have opportunity to further develop your practice in a range of dietetic services across the health board, working closely with experienced dietitians in their specialist area. Starting in Oncology, which is based in the Royal Gwent Hospital, but in-reaching to provide inpatient care in GUH, will give you opportunity to work with cancer specialist dietitians for your first 12 months. You will work in both the inpatient and outpatient settings and support the dietetic care of patients accessing treatment for a range of cancer diagnoses including upper and lower GI and Head and Neck Cancer. Future rotational opportunities include Community Nutrition Support and Acute Critical Care, and as other band 6 vacancies arise, additional specialities will be added to the rotation scheme.

The specific nature of clinical work will differ with each rotation. The rotational posts will provide an opportunity to provide clinical dietetic support to:
The post holder must have already attained a sound knowledge and understanding of general dietetics and be ready to work independently in a range of speciality services on a rotational basis. Depending on your rotation allocation you may be responsible for a range of dietetic clinics and wards, more specialised clinics for patients requiring support with complex and specialist needs as well as advising public and local authority services in the community.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.

- Education to allocated patient education groups- within rotation
- Participate in supporting and supervising band 5 dietitians , student dietitians and support staff in their education and practice
