This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced, innovative and enthusiastic nurse to join our Colorectal Stoma team at Barts Healthcare Trust. You will primarily be based at Royal London and work closely with all Colorectal Stoma clinical nurse specialists within the Trust for a 12month cover.
The post holder will play a pivotal role in the functioning of the Colorectal Stoma CNS service and be a key member of the team working to deliver a high quality patient experience.
The post-holder will be responsible for a patient caseload and provide expert advice, information and support for our patients. It is essential to possess the knowledge and skills necessary for the post. The post holder will run nurse led clinics to facilitate effective health care delivery on the pre and post operative pathway.
We require someone who can work both autonomously and as part of a team.
Leadership, innovation, motivation and excellent communication skills are essential.
Main duties of the job
To provide a specialist nursing service ensuring that patients referred to the Trust undergoing surgery which may result in a stoma receive the highest standard of clinical care and have access to a fully comprehensive support service. The stoma care nurse will influence patient care through clinical practice, management, education, problem solving and professional activities taking into account corporate and directorate objectives and the Clinical Governance framework.
