An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Staff Nurse to join our team. Ward 7 is a 28 bedded medical ward specialising in Cardiology treating both male & female adult patients. Our 4 bedded coronary care unit provides specialist care to cardiac patients requiring primary PCI, pacemakers & ICD's. We also manage conditions such as endocarditis & heart failure.
Our medical wards can be busy & challenging environments. In joining our team, you will bring your skills & passion to provide the highest quality patient-focused care & compassion for our patients. You must be a team player with excellent communications skills & have the ability to work using your own initiative as well as part of the wider team.

We offer flexible working patterns on a roster basis which includes a well-balanced combination of days, nights & weekends in order to meet the needs of our patients & ensure we provide a fair and equal working environment.

Main duties of the job
Under the direction of the Ward Manager the role of a Band 5 Staff Nurse is to support the Ward Manager assess, plan, implement, evaluate and deliver high quality, evidence-based, holistic person-centred care and to assist in the supervision of more junior members of staff. In the absence of Band 6/7 Nurse the postholder will be required to act as team leader who will be responsible and accountable for the smooth running of the rostered shift.
