We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Senior Nurse / Senior Operating Department Practitioner to join our leadership team to lead and further develop our UHS Operating and perioperative medicine department. We have recently expanded our theatre capacity and are in the progress of commencing our second phase of expansion. The current service is a cross site facility at Southampton and Lymington, involving the UHS services of peri-operative medicine, pre-operative assessment, the Surgical Day Unit, 35 Operating Rooms and 7 Recovery areas. The multiple specialties include General Surgery, Orthopaedics, ENT/ OMF, Cardiac and Neuro. We also support services external to the theatre department including interventional radiology, CT, MRI, A& E trauma response. We are developing our Robotic service and exploring advanced roles in recovery, anaesthetic practitioner, and scrub. We are a major trauma centre and support 24hour emergency care. You will be part of a nursing / ODP leadership team, leading and supporting a team of 700wte staff, supporting pioneering emergency and elective surgical pathways of care with an excellent national and international reputation.Main duties of the job
