Senior Research Technician - Band AfC 5 (12 month fixed term)

We are looking to recruit 2 x Senior Research Technician's within Research and Innovation (R& I) at Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust (MFT). These roles will be a key member of the team at the Centre for Precision Approaches to Combatting Antimicrobial Resistance based at Wythenshawe Hospital. One role will involve general laboratory duties, with a particular focus on coordinating quality management, and one role will be responsible for running biochemical assays (particularly mass spectrometry).
Main duties of the job
The aim of our Centre is to specifically test individualised approaches to infection management especially antibiotic prescribing, helping to protect and preserve antibiotics for when they are most effective. The roles will help to support and expand our research capabilities.
You will be educated to degree level in a scientific/ health related discipline or demonstrable experience in scientific knowledge and technical ability of general laboratory techniques.
The successful candidate will be a self-motivated and adaptable individual who is able to exercise initiative and work with minimal supervision or as part of a team.
