We have an exciting opportunity for a Qualified or new to qualify Psychological Wellbeing Practitioner Band 5 to join the NHS Talking Therapies service.

(Ribble Valley & Pendle, Hyndburn & Rossendale or Burnley)

The PWPs provides Step 2 interventions to clients with mild to moderate anxiety and depression. The post holder will work with people with different cultural backgrounds and ages, using interpreters when necessary and should be committed to equal opportunities.

The successful candidate will be joining a successful and supportive NHS Talking Therapies service. We will provide mentoring, clinical supervision and management support. You will also have the opportunity to attend suitable training events to further your clinical practice. You will have a proven track record of meeting Team targets, maintaining high standards of clinical record keeping and effectively managing your own caseload.

You will possess excellent interpersonal and time management skills, an ability to work autonomously, and an enthusiasm for working in a wellbeing service. You will be motivated to develop the Service for the benefit of Service Users, staff and stakeholders alike whilst managing the demands of working in a busy psychological therapies service. Of course, you'll love talking to people with different needs, be genuinely interested in helping them, and possess a deep level of empathy, understanding and patience

Main duties of the job

You will have a formally recognised qualification of Post Graduate Certificate in Primary Care Mental Health or you are due to complete this course.

To provide high quality primary care IAPT services to adults with mild to moderate mental health problems.

To work autonomously within professional guidelines and the overall framework of team policies and procedure.

To deliver IAPT services in accordance with NICE guidelines, within agreed activity levels and model, meeting required key performance indicators (KPIs).

To provide advice and consultation on client's care, to other clinicians and to non-professional carers.

To promote wellbeing and social inclusion.

To work flexibly and in accordance with service demands. This may include support or clinical supervision of band 4 practitioners where appropriate.

To work to the agreed number of clinical contacts per week as set by the Team Lead

Qualifications

Essential

  • Completion* of a recognised qualification for the role e.g. PWP Post Graduate Certificate (or Qualified Graduate Mental Health Worker with a 2022 competency certificate)
  • Registration as PWP with BABCP or BPS (completed or in progress)* *If a current PWP trainee, employment will be contingent on successful completion of training and subsequent registration


Knowledge

Essential

  • Knowledge of NHS structures and policy within a primary care context.


Experience

Essential

  • Experience of psychological work with common mental health problems
  • Experience of short term time-limited work.
  • Evidence of regular supervised practice.
