We are looking to appoint a passionate and dynamic ward manager who will lead an award winning team in Day Surgery Unit and Recovery Unit at Princess Anne Hospital.

As part of the Women and Newborn care group, the Day Surgery Unit is a very friendly unit in charge of admission and discharge of patients undergoing gynaecology and breast surgeries, from simple to more complex procedures. It enjoys the compliment of a very experienced and organised team of both registered nurses and health care assistants. The same team has the clinical expertise to care and look after our patients post-operatively, during their recovery period.

As Ward Manager, you will have a great opportunity to highlight both your clinical competence and experience and your management and leadership skills.

Job responsibilities

YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES

WHAT YOULL DO

You will lead and manage the Day Surgery and Recovery Units in PAH. You will provide your clinical expertise in women and newborn services and support and work with the multi-disciplinary teams involve in the care of all our patients undergoing gynaecological and breast procedures. Obstetric emergency patients who are operated under general anaesthesia are also recover in the department.

WHAT WERE LOOKING FORWe are looking for an experienced Registered Nurse or a Registered Operating Department Practitioners who is passionate in providing the highest standard of care a dynamic and organised practitioner who can lead an award winning team of nurses and health care assistants. We will require an experience at Band 6 level as a minimum, foundation management and equivalent leadership credentials. Experience leading a team in a related specialty will be an advantage.

The department operates from 7am to 10 pm where shifts are divided to cover the whole service from Monday to Saturday. You may be required to work additional shifts on Sundays to cover additional operating requirements and as the service expands.

  • Degree-level education or equivalent experience
  • Experience at band 6 level
  • Provide evidence of Leading learning in practice

  • Provide evidence of Supporting /managing and supervision a range of learnings in practice
