We are now looking an enthusiastic Radiographers to join our friendly team to undertake DEXA examinations, adhering to best practice of radiographic technique. Working within the DEXA department at WGH provides excellent opportunities to gain experience in a friendly and welcoming department. We would like to encourage both trained and non-DEXA trained applicants - full training will be given if required. Whilst this is primarily a DEXA role some time will be spent in plain film.
Main duties of the job
The Radiology department at Westmorland General carries out a full range of investigations, including General work, U/S, Fluoroscopy, CT and Bone density Imaging, supporting our busy Urgent Treatment centre, Out-patients, In-patients and Theatres. We are setting up a new MRI service on the site.
We are equipped with SECTRA PACS and RIS.
The shift pattern would involve working 7.5 hour shifts with additional evening, weekends and Bank holidays on rotation. Currently there is no night working.
There is currently 1 part time post available - 22.5 hours.
About us
We operate from three main hospitals - Furness General Hospital (FGH) in Barrow, the Royal Lancaster Infirmary (RLI), and Westmorland General Hospital (WGH) in Kendal, as well as a number of community health care premises including Millom Hospital and GP Practice, Queen Victoria Hospital in Morecambe, and Ulverston Community Health Centre.
FGH and the RLI have a range of General Hospital services, with full Emergency Departments, Critical/Coronary Care units and various Consultant-led services.
WGH provides a range of General Hospital services, together with an Urgent Treatment Centre, that can help with a range of non-life threatening conditions such as broken bones and minor illnesses.
All three main hospitals provide a range of planned care including outpatients, diagnostics, therapies, day case and inpatient surgery. In addition, a range of local outreach services and diagnostics are provided from community facilities across Morecambe Bay.
