If so, there is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic registered nurse to develop their career in the maxillofacial unit.

We are a friendly, supportive, diverse unit with 2 theatres, small recovery, day ward, dressing clinic and outpatient clinics so a flexible approach to working is essential.Experience in the speciality would be an advantage although we can offer on the job training including a comprehensive induction programme and mentorship.Our units opening hours are Monday to Friday with hours of work between 07:45 - 17.00, closing on weekends and bank holidays.

The primary base is Royal Gwent Hospital however we also rotate to our satellite unit in Nevil Hall

Main duties of the job

The successful applicant must have an interest in the specialities, have excellent communication skills and work well in a multidisciplinary team.

The applicant must be adaptable and flexible and will be expected to work across all areas of the department, which includes theatre, recovery, ward and clinic. The base is currently at the Royal Gwent, however the successful candidate will be expected to cross cover to the Nevill Hall unit.

The department aims to give high quality care to their patients and the new team member must be committed to continual service improvement within these specialities.

The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.

  • oRegistered Nurse level 1. Currently registered with the NMC

Experience

  • Maxillofacial experience
  • Transferable experience such as day surgery/ theatre/recovery
  • Experience of working in a clinic ?Wound care
  • Experience of working Learning Disability
