The post holder will promote equality for all service users in accessing Acute In-Patient Assessment and Treatment, assisting with the initial assessment process, contributing to discharge planning at the point of entry, and ensuring consistent application of care and treatment plans throughout the duration of admission.

The post holder will assess, plan, implement and evaluate care through the principles of Positive Behavioural Support.

To contribute to the assessment and treatment of those accessing Assessment and Treatment, ensuring holistic delivery of care and multi-disciplinary/multi-agency services which are coherent, consistently applied and in line with the Mission Statement for Acute Assessment and Treatment Services as outlined in the Operational Policy.

Main duties of the job

We are seeking a dynamic, highly motivated Registered Learning Disabilities Nurse with proven commitment to working with individuals who have challenging behaviour, and or Mental Health problems to work in an Acute Admissions Unit , preferably with a minimum of 1 year's experience.The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, excellent communication skills, a positive attitude to working with people with challenging behaviour and experience of working effectively within a multi-disciplinary environment. Candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to collect and analysis data and plan support in line with the principles of Positive Behavioural Support and Active Support. Candidates must also be able to demonstrate commitment to developing their clinical skills. The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post; English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
