Static Senior Physiotherapist - Acute inpatient team WCH

An exciting opportunity has risen for a motivated and dynamic senior Physiotherapist to join the medical / ITU team within the acute inpatient physio team at WCH.

The Acute inpatient Physiotherapy team provide specialist assessment and rehabilitation for patients with a wide range of long and acute short-term conditions, within the various specialities based within WCH.

Main duties of the job

To practice in accordance with the Chartered Society of Physiotherapy Rules of Professional Conduct and The Health Professions Council Regulations.

To work autonomously with an increasingly complex caseload undertaking assessment, diagnosis, treatment, and providing appropriate advice.

Emphasis is placed on the provision of a holistic care package tailored to the individual's needs with the aim of developing maximum function and hence improving quality of life.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • CSP recognised Degree/Diploma in Physiotherapy.
  • HPC registered.
  • Member of The Chartered Society of Physiotherapy.


Desirable

  • Evidence of post registration education and / or membership of special interest group associated with Medical / Acute Elderly Care Physiotherapy


Experience

Essential

  • Postgraduate experience,
  • Proven post-graduate skills in the assessment, treatment and management of Medical and Acute Elderly Care cases, including complex discharge.
  • Experience of student supervision


Desirable

  • Experience of staff supervision.


Knowledge

Essential

  • Awareness of current initiatives within the Local and National health economy
  • Effective clinical reasoning skills and knowledge of practice relating to the Medical and Acute Elderly Care clinical areas
  • Evidence of Continuing Professional development
