An exciting opportunity has arisen to work as part of the Specialist Services Care group in the role of Quality Matron. There are 2 posts available and will cover the Inpatient and Community CAMHS Services.

Reporting directly to the Associate Director of Nursing and Quality, you will work as an integral part of the Care group, ensuring high quality care is provided to patients and their families, building on the outstanding work achieved so far.

The Quality Matron role is the cornerstone of improving the quality of patient care. They do this through visible, inclusive leadership and engagement with patients and families, frontline staff and senior management teams.

Main duties of the job

The Quality Matron will support the Associate Director of Nursing and Quality and the wider team to deliver clinical leadership, ensuring the delivery of safe, effective, high quality clinical care and consistent achievement of care standards. This will be in line with the nationally agreed 10 key responsibilities set out in the matrons handbook as below:
  • Inclusive leadership, professional standards and accountability
  • Governance, patient safety and quality
  • Workforce planning and resource management
  • Patient experience and reducing health inequalities
  • Performance and operational oversight
  • Digital and information technology
  • Education, training and development
  • Research and development
  • Collaborative working and clinical effectiveness
  • Service improvement and transformation.

  • The post holder will deliver transformation of clinical services to best meet the needs of the population within the care group. As a key member of the Senior Leadership Team the post holder will provide Quality Leadership to facilitate consistent best practice, this will include taking a key role in the future shaping and development of services.

  • The post holder will deliver transformation of clinical services to best meet the needs of the population within the care group. As a key member of the Clinical Leadership Team the post holder will provide Clinical Quality Leadership to facilitate consistent best practice care at practice level in support of Clinical Governance Plan. This will include taking a key role in the future shaping and development of the Services.

    Person Specification

    Senior operational/clinical experience

    • Significant experience at band 7 level or above
