The Professional Midwifery Advocate will use the A-EQUIP (Advocating for Education and Quality Improvement) approach to support all midwives to improve system performance and the experiences of midwives and women.
Main duties of the job
- Meet the professional support and developmental needs of midwives and have a positive impact on clinical outcomes for women, babies, midwives and maternity services.
- Deploy the A-EQUIP model of advocating and educating for quality improvement (NHS England 2017), which provides a continuous improvement process that builds upon personal and professional resilience of midwives to enhance the quality of care for women.
- Support midwives by providing and promoting regular sessions of restorative clinical supervision (RCS) and embed a culture of openness, reflection and professional resilience.
- Collaborate with the local quality & safety, governance, and practice development teams, providing professional advice and supporting quality improvement. Network with PMAs throughout South Yorkshire Bassetlaw LMNS and the wider region. Implement national recommendations for PMA services.

- NMC Registered Midwife
- Mentorship Qualification or relevant equivalent qualification (SSSA/998/997)
- Degree or equivalent qualification/experience
- PMA qualification

- Extensive post graduate experience.
- Experience of undertaking audit and change management
