We are looking for an enthusiastic and experienced Physiotherapist to join our Consultant General Team based at The Rotherham General Hospital.

The Consultant General team at The Rotherham NHS Foundation Trust is a progressive and dynamic team comprising of Physiotherapists, Occupational Therapist and Support workers.

Within this team we have sub-specialities such as Orthopaedics (Upper limb peripheral, post-operative hips and shoulders) Hand Therapy, A& E, Pelvic Health, Occupational Health, Rheumatology and Occupational Therapy.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will have a caseload biased towards the assessment, treatment and rehabilitation of Orthopaedics (Upper limb peripheral, post-operative hips and shoulders) and Hand Therapy. You must have a broad range of postgraduate experience and personal development, including recent work within the musculoskeletal / orthopaedic specialities.

We assess, treat and rehabilitate Conservative and Non-Conservatively managed patients that have been referred from Orthopaedic Consultants, Out of area (Cons and AHP) and fellow AHPs.

We actively support and encourage continuous professional development. You will be expected to have an active role in your own development alongside contributing to the provision of supervision and peer support for Physiotherapists, Therapy support staff and Physiotherapy students.

Physical and Practical

Essential

  • Able to demonstrate advanced patient
  • assessment skills e.g. manual therapy techniques
  • Dexterity and accuracy in undertaking

  • Ability to utilise technology for the recording and collection of data and to support clinical care
  • Produce timely, accurate written/electronic records and documents


Knowledge

Essential

  • Evidence of clinical expertise and knowledge to Post graduate Diploma level developed through CPD and experience
  • Knowledge and experience of using standardised assessments and development of relevant outcome measures
  • Demonstrates knowledge of equipment available and able to assess and fit where applicable
  • Knowledge and understanding of national legislation, guidance and regulatory framework including NSF, NICE, Information Governance, Equality and Diversity, Data Protection, Safe Guarding, Professional and Clinical Guidelines.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Degree in Physiotherapy
  • Current HCPC Registration
  • Post graduate experience in the treatment and management of acute and chronic upper limb injuries


Desirable

  • Membership of Professional body Chartered Society of Physiotherapy
  • Evidence of post grad qualification relevant to
  • neuromusculoskeletal / orthopaedic physiotherapy
  • Completed recognised IT course e.g. ECDL/Elite/MOST
  • Full UK drivers license

  • Demonstrates an ability to prioritise own, junior and support staff workload and meet required timescales
  • Responds appropriately to urgent and emergency situations


Experience

Essential

  • Clinical experience of working within musculoskeletal / orthopaedic outpatients and orthopaedic inpatients.
