Due to retirement, an amazing and exciting opportunity has arisen with the ACERS Team at Homerton Healthcare for a Band 8C Consultant Nurse or AHP.

The Consultant Nurse/AHP will practice autonomously in line with Health Education England's standards for consultant level practice, providing expert practice in Cardiorespiratory care, strategic and enabling leadership, promoting learning, development and improvement and research and innovation, both in the respiratory care team and across the trust.

The Nurse Consultant manages the ACERS/ heart failure/TB/smoking cessation and Allergy services. The teams are all very dynamic and have been expanding and developing services over the past few years. Are you ready to take the next step in your leadership career. Main duties of the job

The Post holder will
  • Be an expert in respiratory care professional practice
  • Work with NEL-ICS
  • Demonstrate continued measurable and lasting improvements to the quality of care to patients and families in the respiratory, heart failure, TB, smoking cessation, and Allergy care services.
  • Demonstrate the development of innovative and effective person-centred respiratory ,heart failure, TB and Allergy, smoking cessation care pathways aligned with all the specialties within HHFT
  • Provide values-based and strategic leadership across the respiratory, heart failure, TB, smoking cessation and Allergy, care pathways, acute Trust and in conjunction
  • Be seen as a key influential leader in helping to develop respiratory care practice, heart failure, TB and Allergy services
  • Focus on measurable outcomes on organisational learning by being a skilled facilitator and capturing meaningful outcome data-to be shared at the appropriate boards and forums
  • Oversee the leadership on the implementation of evidence into
  • Create a knowledge rich culture, especially by ensuring all relevant EPR and system data are used intelligently-
  • Identify and contribute to the evidence base, informing person centred, safe and effective cardiorespiratory care.
  • Inspire and help others in the teams and in the Trust to be positively involved with research and academic pathways.
  • Develop and lead respiratory care research programmes and academic

Essential

  • NMC/ HCPC registration
  • Masters Degree
  • Non-medical prescribing course
  • Ability to manage change and contain conflict ensuring resolution with positive outcomes and with use of negotiation skills
  • Translates research into practice and integrates evidence-based guidelines/knowledge into the development of local pathways of care
  • Experience in advanced respiratory or heart failure
  • Advanced theoretical and practical knowledge of a wide range of approaches to the patient's management, demonstrated by advanced clinical reasoning
  • Demonstrable advanced knowledge of specialist Respiratory care and current treatments
  • Understanding and demonstration of the Trust Values
