An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated individual to join the Assurance Team in the Quality Department as a Band 5 Assurance Officer.
We are looking for an organised and confident individual to work within the Clinical Effectiveness and Assurance Team in the Quality Department at UHCW to deliver the Trusts Assurance and compliance activities and support the Trust in maintaining compliance with CQC regulations.
The Assurance Team, lead by the Head of Clinical Effectiveness and Assurance, and Assurance Manager oversee and implement the delivery of key assurance activities, which involves the design and delivery of a range of inspection activity, such as CQC inspections, Getting it Right First Time reviews, Peer review visits and other types of inspection. The team also work with clinical teams within the Trust to monitor compliance and seek assurance through the design and use of action plans and gap analysis from national reports, recommendations and standards.

Main duties of the job
The successful applicant will predominantly maintain the Trusts assurance processes and systems and be responsible for organising assurance activities such as inspections, the GIRFT programme deep dive visits and helping clinicians to progress action plans.
We are looking for candidates with excellent written and verbal communication skills, dedication and the ability to handle sensitive issues with diplomacy. An understanding of the NHS is desirable, plus proven experience of using Word, Excel, Access and PowerPoint. You will need to show past experience of working with data, and the ability to manage workload in a busy and dynamic environment. Key attributes for this post include being highly organised reliable and working as part of a team.

To support the Assurance Manager and Head of Clinical Effectiveness and Assurance in developing policies, procedures, guidelines, infrastructures, systems and processes which will ensure the organisation is able to meet its statutory, regulatory and NHS compliance requirements.
Co-ordinate compliance evidence, gap analysis, self-assessments, and action plans to support NHS Governance Standards.
To manage the central evidence requirements for all Trust wide assurance activity including but not exhaustive of Care Quality Commission (CQC) registration (the Trusts license to operate) and inspection frameworks, Getting it Right First Time (GIRFT), and Commissioning for Quality and Innovation (CQUIN)
To develop and produce information / performance reports and provide a central information function for assurance and compliance purposes.
To support the Assurance Manager and Head of Clinical Effectiveness and Assurance as Trust leads and in-house experts for the administration of trust-wide regulatory compliance systems (primarily CQC registration and compliance) and provide support for the implementation and development of assurance processes.
Develop a detailed understanding of the key regulatory requirements within Governance, namely CQC registration and compliance, and monitor quality governance frameworks.
Co-ordinate the internal and external infrastructure to support the Trust in meeting statutory and regulatory NHS compliance requirements such as the Care Quality Commission (CQC) registration and inspection frameworks.
Develop and sustain systems and processes to allow the Trust to monitor and measure its compliance with external standards including Care Quality Commission (CQC) Registration, Getting It Right First Time (GIRFT) requirements, and Commissioning for Quality and Innovation (CQUIN) specifications.
