We have an exciting opportunity for a senior clinical psychologist to join the Psychological and Mental Health Services department at Great Ormond Street Hospital (PAMHS). The post holder will work as part of a team of clinical psychologistswithin the Specialist Health Conditions Stream. The Specialist Health Conditions Stream provides a specialist paediatric psychology service to children and young people under the care of 6 specialties within the hospital - urology, endocrinology, dermatology, rheumatology, gastroenterology and neurology. The post holder will work predominantly within the neurology service.

The post holder will be working in a senior service lead role within the neurologypsychology team, in addition to offering input to other specialties within the specialist health conditions stream as required. This post will involve working with children and families who access the hospital under the care of the Neurology department. The Neurology department provide a specialist service for the diagnosis and treatment of children with neurological disorders, on an inpatient and outpatient basis.

Main duties of the job

The post holder will lead the systematic delivery of high quality, evidence based clinical psychology services to patients and families as part of the multidisciplinary neurology team. They will also be expected to provide consultation and expertise to the staff teams working within these services. In addition they will provide clinical leadership within the psychology team, with responsibility for supervision of junior colleagues, service governance and management, innovation and organization.

The post holder will be expected to contribute to the flexible delivery of psychology services across the Trust, in response to new developments and organisational changes.

Utilisation of research skills for audit, policy and service development and research is encouraged.

• Good honours degree in Psychology
• Post-graduate doctoral level training in clinical psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996) as accredited by the BPS/HCPC, including clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, and lifespan developmental psychology
• Eligibility for Chartered status and membership of the Division of Clinical Psychology
• Registration with the Health and Care Professionals Council as Practitioner Psychologist.
