This is an exciting opportunity for an experienced clinical psychologist to combine clinical work with dedicated time for leadership, supervision and service development. We are seeking someone to join our Community CAMHS leadership team in Central Area to continue to develop a high quality, accessible service, ensuring effective, person-centred culture, pathways and interface between CAMHS, neurodevelopmental- and child learning disability services, and in our close working with partner agencies. We are looking for someone with motivation and enthusiasm to work alongside the Head of Child Psychology to ensure comprehensive and high-quality provision of psychological care, supervision, and leadership.
Advanced skills in assessment, formulation, intervention and evaluation will be crucial, along with supervision, training and consultation experience. You will be an experienced leader, who will inspire and support others at all stages of training and careers. We are looking for someone who continually strives for best practice and is keen to evaluate services in ways that balance the needs of young people and families with the requirements of performance management.
You will join a supportive department, and your role will be key, along with consultant peers and Service Management, to promote staff wellbeing and a culture of learning. North Wales has a huge amount to offer in terms of work/life balance, with access to nature and vibrant local culture.
Main duties of the job
Lead responsibility for clinical decisions which require analysis, interpretation and comparison of options
Provide a highly specialised clinical psychology service
Work autonomously in accordance with The BPS Code of Conduct, Ethical Principles and Guidelines 2004, and HCPC.
Delegated responsibility, in consultation with the Head of Child Psychology, for professional leadership, planning, provision and review of BCUHB Child Clinical Psychology Services.
Responsibility for professional leadership and management of psychology staff.
Be accountable for own professional actions and decisions.
In collaboration with Head of Child Psychology, devise, develop, interpret and implement discrete policies and service developments, develop psychological therapy provision and ensure clinical governance processes are implemented
Hold a highly specialist clinical caseload of clients with complex needs.
Provide clinical supervision to multi-disciplinary colleagues.
Provide highly specialist advice and consultancy on Child Psychology issues
Ensure provision of child clinical placements for the North Wales Clinical Psychology Programme (NWCPP) doctoral trainees and provide supervised placements.
Provide teaching and training for multi-disciplinary BCUHB staff and the NWCPP.
Utilise highly specialised research skills for audit, policy, service development and research.
Responsibility in conjunction with the Head of Child Psychology, for recruitment of clinical psychologists

Essential
- oPost-graduate Doctoral qualification in Clinical Psychology (or equivalent for those trained prior to 1996 or for those trained overseas), as accredited by the BPS
- oRegistered with the HCPC as a Clinical Psychologist
- oClinical supervision training for supervising Doctoral trainees.
- oFormal management and health leadership training
- oDoctoral level advanced specialist knowledge of clinical psychology theory and practice
- oAttendance at several taught post-graduate courses and supervised self-directed study in specialist field.
- oKnowledge of relevant legislation and its implications
- oEvidence of CPD as recommended by the BPS and HCPC.

- oMeets assessment requirements of two BPS/DoH National Assessors in Clinical Psychology for entrance into Consultant Grade.
- oSubstantial experience as a qualified senior clinical psychologist
