This is an opportunity for a motivated Registered Nurse to join the Outpatients Team working cross site between Whitehaven and Workington.

The successful candidate will be responsible for the operational day to day running of varying speciality clinics whilst supervising the HCA and mentoring Students during placement.

Main duties of the job

To ensure the safe and effective delivery of care in the Outpatient setting.

To have extended skills which will be utilised on a daily basis ie venepuncture, complex dressings and ECG.

To work closely with and supervise the Band 3 HCA's

The Trust will provide a twelve month preceptorship period for all newly registered healthcare professionals.

Healthcare Professionals returning to practice, moving into new roles or changing clinical environments, may access an agreed preceptorship period.

Disclosure and Barring Service:

The cost of the DBS must be met by the successful candidate(s) through salary deduction. DBS charges are as follows if applicable to the post:

Standard Check: �18 + Administration cost of �3.85 = �21.85. Deducted at �6.85 from 1st month salary and �5 deducted from salary over following 3 months.

Enhanced Check: �38 + administration cost of �3.90 = �41.90. Deducted at �11.90 from 1st month salary and �10 deducted from salary over following 3 months.

Person Specification

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered nurse with active registration.


Desirable

  • Teaching certificate or equivalent.


Experience

Essential

  • Student nurse in the NHS or general nursing within the NHS or equivalent.


Desirable

  • Relevant field of nursing.
  • Budgetary awareness
  • Supporting students.


Knowledge
