Secondment Deputy Sister/Charge Nurse (2 Posts) - Full-time

Band 6 Secondments for 12 months.

An exciting opportunity has arisen for 2 Band 6 secondment posts on Patience 2 Ward at Nottingham University Hospitals Trust. We require a registered nurse who is enthusiastic, motivated and caring to develop their professional knowledge and ability and gain leadership skills at band 6 level within a supportive management team.

Main duties of the job

We have a caring and supportive team of nurses dedicated to the delivery of effective patient care. Excellent communication skills and the ability to work flexibly as part of a team are essential.

Personal and professional development is actively supported. There are numerous opportunities for nurses with a keen interest in the development of link roles. We offer opportunities for professional development and will support staff to undertake further study.

You should be educated to 1st level RGN and have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to prioritise workload and work well as a team member.

As a caring and positive person you will be committed to delivering high quality care whilst adhering to the trust values and behaviours.

Applicants should have experience and knowledge of Urology. It is essential you possess a minimum of 1 year experience at band 5 level in an acute hospital setting.

Training & Qualifications

Essential

  • Current level one NMC registration.
  • Nursing degree
  • Mentoring Course


Desirable

  • Diploma or degree in health / nursing related studies
  • Continuing Professional develoment
  • Completion of all local competency packages


Experience

Essential

  • 1 years at Band 5 experience
  • Supervision of non registered staff, pre registration and post basic students
  • Evidence of ability to mentor
  • Ability to manage the clinical area or ward efficiently and effectively


Desirable

  • Demonstration of team working and ability to work within a team
  • Able to clarify / describe your leadership qualities


Communication and Relationship

Essential

  • Demonstatre effective written and verbal communication skills
  • Produce timely and accurate written / electronic records / documents
  • Can minimise interpersonal conflict and barriers to communication

  • Evidence of negotiation and influencing skills.
  • Demonstration of team working and ability to work within a team

  • Demonstrate an understanding of the deputy sister/charge nurse role
