We have an exciting opportunity for a Band 5 nurse to join our team within Antenatal Clinic across both City and QMC campus to promote and deliver the National Vaccination programme for Seasonal Flu, Pertussis and eventually the Covid 19 vaccine.

The successful candidate will take an active role in promoting the uptake of pertussis and flu vaccination in pregnancy and to undertake work to overcome barriers to vaccination.

You will work with the midwifery team to build vaccine confidence within the pregnant women attending the antenatal clinics.

The role will also include health promotion and providing language appropriate vaccine resource's and also address health inequalities.

Vaccine administration (to potentially include delivery of the Covid vaccination in future years)

Building vaccine confidence in pregnant women

Health Promotion

The provision of language appropriate vaccine resources

To address health inequalities

Maintaining up to date data to submit to NHSE on a monthly basis

Person Specification

Training and Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered Nurse with the NMC
  • Evidence of continuing professional
  • Completion of Pertussis training
  • Completion of Season flu training
  • Completion of Covid 19 training
  • Competent in immunisation training


Desirable

  • Experience of leadership courses
  • BSc qualification


Experience

Essential

  • Experience at Band 5 or equivalent
  • Competent in complex clinical skills Displays clinical expertise and provides support to others
  • Knowledge of the National Vaccination programme


Desirable

  • Previous vaccination experience i.e. Flu Campaign, occupational health vaccinations
  • Experience in vaccination programme
  • Experience in more than one speciality
