An exciting opportunity has arisen for a static Band 6 Musculoskeletal Physiotherapist to work within the hand therapy service at the Bristol Royal Infirmary. The post holder will manage a varied and complex caseload of patients from trauma, orthopaedics, rheumatology and primary care in both the hand fracture clinic and outpatient hand unit setting.

Main duties of the job

We are looking to recruit an inspiring and innovative physiotherapist to join the Hand Rehabilitation Team based at the Bristol Royal Infirmary (BRI). The ideal candidate will have a broad experience of managing musculoskeletal conditions, with experience of working with patients with a range of hand and wrist presentations.

You will provide outstanding clinical and professional contributions to our hand therapy team and ensure clinical excellence within the hand therapy service. You will be joining a team which includes a mix of occupational therapists, physiotherapists and a rehab technician, including rotational and static team members. In collaboration with the Band 7 Team Leads you will support delivery of a high quality and responsive service.

As a motivated and skilled clinician, you will demonstrate advanced skills in the assessment and treatment of a range of complex patients. We are looking for a driven individual who is confident to challenge current practice and ensure that our patients receive up-to-date evidence-based treatments

The post holder will be hard working, naturally empathetic, demonstrating good communication skills to facilitate close working relationships with both patients and staff. They will need to be creative and flexible to meet the changing needs of the caseload and service. In service training programmes, staff appraisal systems, coaching and regular mentoring are in operation to help you develop to meet the demands of the post.
