We are seeking to appoint a dynamic Band 7 QA Lead Radiographer who will be responsible for overseeing the QA program across the radiology service. The post holder will work closely with the radiography service management team, maintenance providers, and medical physics to ensure compliance with the IRMER and IRR legislation.
The successful post holder will be required to work throughout the general x-ray areas, undertake limited CT scanning, participate in the evening, on-call, and bank holiday rotas.
This role would suit an experienced Radiographer who enjoys working with engaged leadership at all levels. Leadership development and specific training will be fully supported.
We are currently expanding the Radiology service with future CDC and MRI development planned.

Main duties of the job
Conduct X-ray examinations to a high standard, while adhering to the Ionising Radiations Regulations 2017, the Ionising Radiations (Medical Exposures) Regulations 2017, and the local rules.
Implement, coordinate, and advise all radiographic staff within the Trust on the Radiology Service's QA Programme and effectively communicate the requirements of Report 77, whilst liaising with the Radiation Protection Advisers.
Organise and oversee all routine QA testing of X-ray and processing equipment across the Trust, including the registration of new equipment and maintenance of the asset register.
Take responsibility for the safe use of equipment, log equipment/building faults, and assess the need for engineer call-outs. Additionally, coordinate service dates, contracts, and maintenance.
Respond to actions following radiation audits and radiation surveys undertaken by the RPA.
