Applications are invited for the post of Desktop Delivery Engineer to provide support to the Trust's desktop environment. The role is part of the Desktop Delivery Team and the position is based at the Royal Hampshire County Hospital in Winchester.

We are looking for an organised, enthusiastic person to join our team who has excellent customer service skills. A good, calm, reassuring manner is essential with a strong attention to detail. You will be taking a variety of support calls, aiming to fix all technical issues remotely or in person via proactive floorwalking so a natural flair for problem solving is a must. The successful applicant will have a good knowledge of MS Windows Operating Systems, Active Directory, SCCM, Windows Defender / LAPS / Encryption, WIFI, PC / Laptop & Printer Hardware and Microsoft Office / M365 , as well as experience of single sign on solutions. Previous second line Service Desk experience, and be able to demonstrate a range of technical skills is essential . Experience of using a computerised Helpdesk/Service Desk and Remote Control Support Tools is part of the role and knowledge of ITIL processes and Wireless technologies would be advantageous. We also manage other bespoke hospital applications for which Training will be given and good communication skills is needed as you will be liaising with third party suppliers.

The Desktop Engineer role is to support and maintain all operational activities of the IT desktop technical environment and the operational services it provides to its customers, as well as provide support for IT solutions that enhance critical business operations. The post holder will report to the Service Delivery Manager and collaborate directly with other members within the team and department.
