RCHT is currently looking for an enthusiastic, motivated and experienced Radiographer to work as part of a team providing a 7 day and out of hours TAG service
Main duties of the job
The Royal Cornwall Hospital is the main acute healthcare provider for the Cornwall and Isles of Scilly providing a full range of services accessed by more than 600,000 people a year.
The Clinical Imaging Service is county wide offering patient's high quality diagnostics in their local community hospital or specialist services at the Royal Cornwall, St Michaels West Cornwall Hospitals and the Community Diagnostic Centres (CDC's).
The Cornwall imaging departments provide clinical placements for student Radiographers from Exeter and Plymouth Universities, is a training site for Radiologists. We are also actively developing our apprenticeship programmes, (in conjunction with our local HEI's), in radiography and wider healthcare settings. Our team has a wide skill mix delivering the service and this includes Assistant Practitioners, Advanced Practitioners (including Reporting Radiographers), Consultant Radiographers, clinical imaging assistants and support workers in all modalities and we committed to developing the knowledge and skills of entire radiographic workforce.
You will be a valuable member of the team in the provision of a quality led timely Imaging service. We actively support and encourage all imaging staff in their career development and aspirations and are committed to providing increased opportunities to widen specialist skills, extend roles and deliver advanced practice.

This is a full time post working 37.5hours per week and commitment to out of hours and weekend work will be required. Part time applications will also be considered for this role.

Job responsibilities
To perform a wide range of clinical imaging examinations/scans within Clinical Imaging as well as in theatres, on wards and in accident and emergency.
To work with the TAG Team Leader and Advanced Practitioner Radiographers to ensure the efficient and cost effective delivery of the TAG service.
To work as part of a team providing a 7 day and out of hours TAG service
To make operational management decisions out of hours in the absence of the Team Leader and Advanced Practitioners in TAG radiography.
To work with the Team Leader and Advanced Practitioner Radiographers to continually improve the TAG radiography service.
Justify radiology referrals (within scope of practice) using referral criteria which falls within the Royal College of Radiologists Guidelines and Clinical Imaging protocols.
To comply with the Ionising Radiation Regulation (IRR 17), Ionising Radiation (Medical Exposure) regulations (IR(ME)R 17) and the Trust Radiation Safety Policy.
Liaise closely with Consultant Radiologists and colleagues within clinical multi-disciplinary teams to ensure that patients receive optimum care.
