There is an exciting opportunity for an experienced social worker to join a dedicated mental health crisis and home based treatment service. As a band 7 social worker you will play a pivotal role in the delivery of evidence based social work interventions and professional practice promoting social work values and ethics.

Working in conjunction with team leads, service lead and professional leadership there will be an opportunity to focus on social interventions, areas of quality, service improvements and innovation.

The post holder will be expected to support and promote a set of values that maximise the potential of individuals by promoting their recovery with the aim of reducing social exclusion, stigma and the potentially disabling effects of severe mental health, focussing on social interventions.

You will bring a distinctive social and rights based perspective to the work that you do and promote this within the team and beyond.

Working with risk and complexity is a key feature of the role.

You will ensure that other social worker receive high quality and reflective professional social work supervision.

Main duties of the job

To professionally lead social workers in the Mental Health Crisis Intervention Team.

To ensure that social workers are receiving high quality and reflective professional social work supervision.

To work as part of a multi-disciplinary service so that the social work offer is a valued part of mental health services.

To contribute to the clinical management of team caseload of clients with complex needs.

Ensure that other social workers receive high quality and reflective professional social work supervision.

Qualifications and Knowledge

Essential

  • Current registration with Social Work England
  • Advanced/expert understanding of relevant professional practice, standards, and protocols within identified area including social work supervision standards
  • Knowledge of ASYE programme
  • Social Work Qualification Post qualification award such as: Practice Educator, Best Interest Assessor, AMHP


Desirable

  • Member of specialist interest group/network, regionally or nationally


Experience

Essential

  • Evidence of sound post-registration professional practice
  • Demonstrable experience of working in mental health
  • Evidence of advanced practice skills and able to demonstrate the impact of this on practice change/development
  • Leadership/management experience which has had a positive impact and created change within the service delivery/practice


Desirable

  • Experience of developing others through education, mentorship, coaching, teaching, assessing, presentations,
