An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dedicated and motivated existing Cardiac Nurse OR Physiotherapist to work within the Cardiac Rehabilitation Service of Birmingham Community Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust Adults and Community Services Division. Training will be offered to meet the services requirements and ensure you are fully supported in your career development.
Main duties of the job
As a band 6 cardiac rehabilitation nurse OR physiotherapist within the team you will be required to assess, plan, deliver and evaluate patient centred care including medication optimisation, symptom management, and education to aid improved quality of life. You will be working in partnership with patients, carers and other health and social care and voluntary agencies to promote health and well-being.
You will be required to work multi professionally as part of the Cardiac Service, providing care for individuals requiring management of their cardiac condition. You will be required to support patients within their own homes, community clinics, cardiac venues, and virtual appointments.

Excellent communication skills are essential as you will need to be committed to sharing good practice, development of robust professional networks and support your colleagues. The successful applicant will be required to work Monday to Friday between the hours of 8.00 am and 17:00pm. Consideration will be given to flexible working hours that meet the needs of the service.

- Registered with the Nursing and Midwifery Council / HCPC registered for Physiotherapists
- Educated to degree level or evidence of equivalent experience.
- Evidence of Post Basic Training
- Basic Life upport (BLS) trained
Desirable
- Cardiac qualification at Degree level or working towards
- Teaching qualification, i.e. ENB 998
- Non-medical Prescribing Course- V300
Experience

- Significant experience of working within a cardiac environment.
- Understanding of the needs of socially and culturally excluded groups
- Experience and understanding of the NHS and health care systems.
- Ability to work under pressure with competing priorities and deadlines.
- Experience of mentoring staff and students on placement within the service.
Desirable
- Significant experience in delivering community based cardiac care.
- Experience in delivering education and teaching self management skills to complex patients / patient groups.
Skills/knowledge

- Excellent verbal, written communication and IT skills, including Microsoft Office Tools and Patient Clinical systems.
- Ability to clearly communicate sensitive, contentious and emotive issues to complex patient groups.
