How would you like to work as part of a high performing Health Visiting Service in the beautiful county of Buckinghamshire?An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Health Visitor to join the Aylesbury Health Visiting teams.

We support Champions in areas such as - Breastfeeding, Solihull Approach, Domestic Abuse, Perinatal Mental Health and CONI. The Health Visiting service has successfully achieved BFI stage 3 accreditation and we are proud to offer a high standard of breastfeeding support to our families.

Main duties of the job

  • To support achievement of identified public health outcomes through delivery of the Healthy Child programme
  • Manage/lead and develop skill mix staff within the team to deliver the Healthy Child Programme in Buckinghamshire Healthcare NHS trust.
  • To supervise the work of others within the team.
  • Where required undertake assessment of family strengths, needs and risks and delegate the responsibility where appropriate to other members of the team.
  • Identify families with additional needs and mobilise services as part of the universal plus/partnership plus Healthy Child programme.
  • Prioritise workload to meet the requirements of the Health visitor service specification.
  • Work in a corporate way within the team ensuring effective and equitable management of workload.
  • Work to improve the health and wellbeing of children and reduce inequalities in outcomes as part of an integrated multi-agency approach to supporting and empowering children and families.

  • Regisered nurse or midwife
  • Specialist Community Public Health Nurse-Health Visiting
  • Leadership training
  • Mentor or ENB 998
  • Nurse Prescribing Qualification
