We have an exciting opportunity for a Senior Registered Nurse to undertake a secondment opportunity for 12 months maternity leave cover as the Gynaecology Safety & Quality Implementation Nurse within the Rosie Hospital.You will be responsible for the provision of expert senior leadership in Safety and Quality by supporting the multi-disciplinary team in the implementation of safe, evidence-based practice across the Gynaecology Service.You will provide shared clinical learning with staff using multiple mediums and be overseeing the management support for the Practice Development team as well as ensuring the policies and procedures are updated, evidence-based and provides an optimal experience for our patients.You will also be expected to act up in the Gynaecology Matron's absence as required.This is a Monday to Friday role - 37.5hrs a week.If you think this is the opportunity for you, please do not hesitate to apply

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered Nurse
  • Evidence of professional continuous development and portfolio of learning
  • Degree in Nursing or equivalent


Desirable

  • ILS Course


Experience

Essential

  • Ability to demonstrate an expert working knowledge of nursing in all areas of the Gynaecology service
  • Evidence of relevant clinical updating
  • Evidence of leadership
  • Experience of academic report writing / ability to interpret evidence


Desirable

  • Involvement with clinical audit and research
  • Use of computerised information system
  • Participation and contribution to local Regional/National forums
  • Experience in clinical effectiveness
  • Awareness of contemporary NHS policy and reforms in health and social care i.e. the Strategy for Womens Health
  • Experience in engaging with service users and interpreting feedback into service improvements

  • Aware of current research and its impact on evidence based care
  • Conversant with NMC rules governing practice
