We are looking for motivated and enthusiastic radiographers who have pride in their work and are committed to excellent patient care to join our team at the Royal Bournemouth Hospital site of the University Hospitals Dorset NHS Foundation Trust. This is an exciting opportunity to join us on our journey to become the major emergency hospital for Dorset as we plan for the future healthcare needs of our region. These changes will involve a �147m investment in our region's health services and will see considerable development at our site over the next few years.
The post will involve rotating through all areas of the main x-ray department, with participation in the out of hours shift rota based in the Emergency Department.
All Band 5 Radiographers are encouraged to extend and develop their clinical skills and knowledge by undertaking a rotation to specialist areas, which can include CT, Cardiac, Interventional, DEXA, Mammography and Ultrasound. We are committed to role extension, with the department training Radiographers in Trauma Reporting, Fluoroscopy procedures and Ultrasound.
Final year students are welcomed and encouraged to apply. A Part-time post will also be considered.

Main duties of the job
The post will involve rotating through all areas of X-ray which includes general x-ray, fluoroscopy, mobiles, theatre and ED, with participation in the out of hours shift rota based in the Emergency Department.
We will be expanding to over 1000 beds with services including A& E, Cardiology, Cancer care, Orthopaedics, Paediatrics, Maternity ,Urology & Vascular surgery. The Royal Bournemouth Hospital also has one largest and busiest Coronary Angioplasty and Cardiac Pacing Centres in the UK and is the Vascular Network Hub for all complex vascular activity accepting patients from the surrounding areas of Salisbury, Dorchester and Poole.
Our modern, well-equipped x-ray department in Bournemouth has 14 rooms and is currently undergoing an extensive equipment replacement programme. Bournemouth Hospital is a worldwide reference site for Toshiba/Cannon CT and currently has 3 multi-slice CT scanners . We also have 4 MRI scanners, 4 cardiac angiography labs and a 2 room Interventional Radiology Suite. Other specialities include DEXA scanning and digital fluoroscopy. The directorate will perform over 220,000 examinations this year with a team of over 90 Radiographers and Assistant Practitioners.
