Here is an exciting opportunity to join our radiology team as an Operational Service Manager - Breast Screening for a fixed term of 6 months initially.
As a Service Unit Manager, you will be responsible for a range of clinical specialties across the service. Alongside the management team, you will be responsible for managing and developing services delivered across the Directorate. The post holder will be operationally responsible for the day to day running of the service and will be required to monitor national performance targets specific to ensure they are achieved, and ensure corrective action is taken when necessary. Monitor medical staffing daily and escalate where necessary. The post holder will work closely with colleagues in Primary Care, Community and NHSBSP to ensure that pathways are optimised.

Main duties of the job
o Continue to improve waiting times and establish effective monitoring systems, taking corrective action in conjunction with clinical staff.o Assist in reviewing demand and capacity planning on a regular basis, ensuring compliance with local and national targets.Ensure that rotas are planned in advance and take into consideration current vacancy/recruitment status.o Actively engage in and lead 'Communication Cells' and use them as a catalyst to promote a culture of continuous quality improvement.o Develop and support the deployment of standard operating procedures to reinforce the agreed standard ways of working.o Highlight and report any areas of over or under performance and take action as appropriate.o Responsible for ensuring observation of Professional Codes of Conduct, Health and Safety at Work regulations, Data Protection Act, and the Code of Practice.o Responsible for reviewing and updating departmental policies and protocols to ensure compliance with the Trust's, NHSBSP and Department of Health requirements.o Ensure that there are adequate Governance procedures in place and that any concerns are addressed and/or escalated as appropriate.o The post holder will be expected to undertake service improvement and transformation projects across the service and to work closely with colleagues to review services and delivery of care.o The post holder will be responsible for managing a delegated budget in accordance with SFIs.
