An exciting opportunity has arisen for a 12 month fixed Term/secondement to join the pleural team as a Senior Pleural Specialist Nurse.
We are looking for a highly motivated induvial with an interest in caring for patients with pleural disease.
As part of the nursing team you will take part in Nurse led clinics and participate/perform pleural procedure to aid managing patients symptoms and assist with developing management plans
12month Fixed Term/Secondment
Band 7 - 37.5 hrs per week
Main duties of the job
The post holder will be responsible and play a central and pivotal role in the management of patients with Pleural disease and bring a valuable and varied skill set. The specialist pleural practitioner will play a key role in reducing the length and improving the quality of Care and experience for respiratory and oncology patients.
The post holder will Focus on early assessment and intervention in patients with pleural disease, facilitating early supported discharge, admission and readmission avoidance and providing holistic care throughout the patient journey.
The post holder will be an integral part of the Respiratory team, supporting the team in meeting all requirements set locally, nationally. They will also support the annual peer review process.
The post holder will work independently, planning and organising own time, design and implement systems to improve and develop the MFT pleural team and the MDT process. Use strong persuasive and negotiation skills and demonstrate tact when dealing with conflicting team requirements.
Those taking on the role as a Senior Pleural Specialist Nurse will be supported by a consultant Respiratory Physician and the clinical lead for the service
