The Digital Technologies team focuses on delivering and sustaining successful digital change implementation. Our primary function is to support Trust staff to use and optimise current and future clinical systems and technologies with I.T. enabled projects. Within the Digital Technologies team, you will work as a Project Manager with clinical services, I.T. services and our System Suppliers to facilitate Projects aimed towards implementing systems / upgrades and system enhancements, to ensure Service requirements are achieved.

  • Day to day Project Management which includes, working towards delivering projects on time and updating project plans to reflect changes in any project.
  • Updating Risk and Issue logs accordingly.
  • Liaising with Services, I.T. staff and Suppliers to keep project timelines on track.
  • Implementation and delivery of the technologies to services.

Working pattern:

37.5 hours per week. Part time may be considered for strong candidates.

While flexible working is a part of the role, travel to sites in Berkshire is a requirement where identified.

For you to be considered for this role:

You will be expected to demonstrate good I.T. knowledge and have experience of delivering successful I.T. implementations projects. Support will be provided. Ideally have your own car and full driving licence. You will be working as part of a team and will have mentoring within the role.

Main duties of the job

  • Proactively lead and manage assigned projects for the trust.
  • Ensure services procedures exist for a smooth transfer between projects and Live Service.
  • Deliver and lead project deliverables using tools, plans and documentation, focusing on Prince2.
  • Anticipate & lead teams to identify, manage and resolve issues, identify risks and dependencies within projects.
  • Accountable for defining, planning, and implementing project-based policies and service development ensuring an effective project service.
  • Ensure projects follow the appropriate identified Project governance.
  • Work with leads and services to ensure benefits are identified and realised.
  • Prepare and report project status and escalate when appropriate.
  • Responsible for the planning and organisation of a range of projects, associated project tasks and activities. Adjust and adapting plans.
  • Develop and manage relationships with 3rd parties, implementing process and routines to enable 3rd parties to jointly deliver.
  • Manage project resources, ensuring that any concerns regarding capacity are escalated.
  • Ensure a smooth transfer with business-as-usual teams and support to ensure projects can be established as an operational function.
  • Develop relationships with stakeholders to promote and support project delivery and ensure change is embedded.
  • Carry out regular reviews to ensure staff and services have continued support.
  • To support upkeep of operating procedures, ensuring staff are aware of their responsibilities

    Person Specification



    • Educated to degree level or equivalent relevant experience/qualifications / short courses
    • Post graduate Project Management qualification, such as PRINCE2 Practitioner Certificate or equivalent


    • Training or good knowledge of Microsoft Project

    Previous Experience


    • Relevant project management experience with change / IT solution implementations
    • Experience of developing and maintaining standard project documentation
    • Experience managing teams via either matrix or line management arrangements (e.g. project)

    • Experience in improving services and innovations
