Band 7 Speech and Language Therapist - 24.5 hours per week
Are you an experienced Speech and Language Therapist, interested and skilled in working with children with complex communication difficulties? If so, we would love to hear from you.
We have a fabulous opportunity for a part time time band 7 Speech and Language Therapist to join our team in Wrexham and Flintshire. You will provide a specialist service for children/young people, who have complex speech, language and communication difficulties within our mainstream schools service.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
Main duties of the job
For this senior role, we are looking for a highly adaptable and innovative band 7 Speech and Language Therapist, who thrives off proactive and dynamic service delivery. With advanced skills and experience with a broad range of SLCN and clinical presentations, you will manage and support others with complex cases (including with AAC, ND/ASD presentations, challenging social situations, severe SLCN), working quickly and efficiently to prioritise your own and others workloads. You will help to manage waiting lists, triage and identify changes in service demand and suggest ways demand can be managed. There will be opportunities to lead on service projects, delegate tasks and support others as needed to ensure whole team involvement. You will support new / junior members of staff through clinical supervision and provision of joint visits and be able to identify areas for development within the team and develop induction support programmes for them accordingly. You will demonstrate skilled and effective case management and proactive and inspiring approaches to service delivery.
You will join a highly motivated, friendly team of Speech and Language Therapists and experienced Technical Instructors who work hard to continually improve our services. The department offers a wide range of opportunities for CPD and is committed to providing excellent levels of support and clinical supervision and regular in service training days.
