The successful applicant will have a passion for bladder & bowel ( & catheter) care and be highly motivated to deliver a quality and equitable service to adults with bladder and bowel dysfunction.
Prior experience in the promotion of continence and the management of incontinence is essential.
This will be an opportunity to develop your knowledge and skills within this specialty.
The post holder will contribute to the monitoring of the incontinence product home delivery service.

We are a small , friendly team of 7 clinical staff and 3 administrative/clerical staff . We all work closely together and our aim is to provide the best bladder and bowel care service to residents within Gloucestershire.

Job responsibilities
Main purpose of the job:Provide a specialist service underpinned by theoretical knowledge and relevant practical experience for adults with a bladder or bowel dysfunction.To manage a caseload of patients who require specialist continence care. Maintain accurate and contemporaneous records on care delivery.
Provide a specialist assessment making autonomous clinical decisions on care and treatment of incontinence, advising on a range of management options e.g. continence aids, devices and product supplies. This often means dealing with barriers of understanding and obtaining information from a third party.
Provide specialist advice and support to users and carers, Allied Healthcare Professionals, and homecare workers who are involved in the care of adults with bladder and bowel dysfunction, frequently communicating sensitive information, requiring persuasive and reassurance skills.
Monitor assessments and the provision of incontinence products for clients with intractable incontinence and ensure comply with the Trust Policy for the provision of products.Act as an expert clinician, advice, and select supplies and administer medical devices (catheters, sheaths) and pharmacology to manage continence care needs.Access available resources within the hospital and community, facilitating nursing practice are based on current evidence-based advances in continence care.Responsible for dealing with highly sensitive and confidential information that may be contentious and could lead to conflict.

- Registered Nurse (Nursing and Midwifery Council) or Physiotherapist
Desirable
- A recognised Continence qualification or experience in the promotion and management of incontinence, women's and men's pelvic health.
Experience
Essential
- Experience of teaching and assessing.
- Managing complex patients care
- Higher level communication skills
Desirable
- Experience of urodynamic investigation will be advantageous not essential.
Knowledge / Skills

- Good command and understanding of English, punctuation and grammar
- Good computer skills with working knowledge of Microsoft Office including Word, Excel, Outlook/Diary management
- Proven organisational skills
- Ability to work autonomously and frequently working alone
