OCE are recruiting for a band 8A Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) or a band 7 trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner (tACP) for Acute Spinal Cord Injury. This is an exciting new post and is open to AHPs and Registered Nurses.
This is a Monday to Friday full-time role but flexible working would be considered both in the interests of the service and of the post holder.
As an accredited ACP you would be supported in your role by consultants at OCE, Matron, and the Trust ACP lead.
As a trainee ACP you would be fully supported through your master's degree with 20% off the job learning. (20% of your contractual hours allocated every week to attend university or to study)

The accredited ACP applicant will be Registered Healthcare Professional(NMC, HCPC or GPhC) and have completed their MSC in Advanced Clinical Practice in relevant Advanced Practice field.
The trainee tACP applicant will be a Registered Healthcare Professional(NMC, HCPC or GPhC) will have a First level degree (HEI Level 5 or 6) in undergraduate base profession and demonstrable evidence of ability to study at Level 7 (either previous Level 6 or level 7 study), or willingness to submit academic piece for assessment if required

- work across the Trust to support front-line clinicians to optimise management of the effects of spinal cord injury such as spasticity, neurogenic bladder and bowel and autonomic dysreflexia.
- contribute to collaborative, multidisciplinary working within the new Acute Spinal Cord Injury service at OUH alongside the rehabilitation medicine service lead and other disciplines such as clinical psychology and dietetics.
- competently perform a range of clinical assessments, contributing to planning diagnostic investigations and instituting specialised treatments, as required by the service and the scope of practice for the role such as ASIA examinations, imaging and SCI specific prescribing.
A trainee ACP will .
