An exciting opportunity has arisen within Cardiff and Vale University R& D for a Research Nurse to become part of a growing and dynamic research delivery team.
This role will be supporting exciting and innovative research within the women and children department.
We are seeking to employ a band 5 Registered Nurse with research and/or gynaecology clinical experience with an interest in research who will bring enthusiasm and have a desire to develop.
The post holder will be based at the University Hospital of Wales and will be employed to support the growing portfolio of studies in various specialities.

Funding is provided by Health and Care Research Wales supports NHS Research and Delivery (R& D) Departments led by a R& D Director to provide local services for research support and facilitates the sponsoring and hosting of studies within UHB's across Wales. Part of this service includes a NHS research delivery team consisting of Research Nurses, Clinical Studies Officers, Research Officers and Administrators, employed by NHS organisations to support the delivery of high quality health and social care studies.
This will be a fixed term post for 12 months to cover the needs of the service
Main duties of the job
The post holder will contribute to the assessment and management of the care pathways for patients and carer's participating in clinical trials.
This will include the recruitment, education, monitoring of trial patients, the collection and documentation of accurate data.
Carry out physical assessments, taking blood/urine samples and processing according to the study protocol.
Facilitate recruitment into a number of research studies ensuring all study timelines are met.
Maintain accurate documentation of patient events in nursing/medical notes and case report forms.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this role Welsh and/or English speakers are equally welcome to apply.
