This is an exciting opportunity for a Therapist with a small Team Manager part to the role in the new & innovative Type 1 Diabetes & Disordered Eating (T1DE) Service. This is a small multi-disciplinary team. The new team is based on very positive research & outcomes from other pilot schemes. This service aims to provide comprehensive & compassionate care for a complex & often under-served patient group.

We are looking for a dynamic individual, who possesses a passion for service development & the provision of high-quality clinical care.

This post has lots of variety with a strong focus on research, service development, and clinical delivery, as well as the team manager aspect of the role.

We are a friendly and supportive service based on the Wirral, & we are looking for a like-minded individual to help us set up this innovative service.

Main duties of the job

  • Responsible for a small clinical caseload within the new and developing Type 1 Diabetes and Disordered Eating Service, with responsibility for managing the small CWP part of the service
  • To manage, lead and be accountable for the provision of high-quality effective leadership and management of the team and ensure an optimum level of safe and effective patient care within budgetary resources.
  • Develop the team with a multidisciplinary approach and using developed managerial and leadership skills to promote excellent working practice, promoting the rights of service users in line with national and regional strategies.

All new clinical support staff will be required to have completed or working towards the Care Certificate (CWP In-house 2 day training to be completed within 6 months of start date).

Please note applicants will be required to pay for their DBS check. Costs are deducted from salary following appointment.You are encouraged to enrol for the DBS Update Service. A small annual fee of �13 per year applies.

New entrants to the NHS will commence on the minimum of the scale stated above.

  • Educated to diploma/degree level and registered with the appropriate professional body

  • Evidence of continuing professional development in the speciality of Eating Disorders


Knowledge & Expertise

Essential

  • Knowledge of current developments in practice in general psychiatric services


Desirable

  • Knowledge of NHS management
  • Specialist knowledge in the treatment of eating disorders


Experience

Essential

  • Significant post-registration experience
  • Management experience in a multi-disciplinary team
  • Experience of developing specialist programmes of care/care packages
  • Knowledge of the recording of service users information

  • Experience of change management
  • Experience of developing and evaluating service
  • Management experiences in mental health services
