An opportunity has arisen for an enthusiastic, motivated individual who is interested in joining the radiology interventional service based in the radiology department at Prince Philip Hospital.
The successful applicant will be supported whilst gaining experience in the care of the patient undergoing a day case cardiac angiograms and other radiology interventional procedures. Experience of scrub nurse duties for sterile procedures will be an advantage but not essential as training will be given.
Main duties of the job
You will be part of a multidisciplinary team of nurses, radiographers, cardiac physiologists, Consultant Radiologists and Cardiologists. Although each discipline has their own special role, we all work closely together to ensure a high standard of care is delivered safely to our patients.
Working hours are spread across 5 days a week to ensure workload is covered, and this also means that they are conducive to a happy work life balance.
The role will involve admitting the patient to our 6 bedded recovery bay and completing the pre procedural checks.
Training as a scrub nurse and/or circulatory assistant during procedures
Monitoring and ensuring safe discharge of the patient, post procedure.
Ordering and monitoring stock levels of radiology consumables.
Flexible working to ensure workload is covered.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post English and/or Welsh speakers are equally welcome to apply.
