An exciting opportunity is now available in the Musculo-skeletal (MSK) Therapy Outpatient Services and PhysioWorks.

The post covers all of the MSK outpatient specialties, including upper limb, lower limb, spinal, rheumatology, temporomandibular disorders, audio-vestibular rehabilitation, hydrotherapy, pain, women's health and PhysioWorks.

MSK Therapy provides an integrated Physiotherapy, Occupational Therapy and Podiatry service to a wide range of referral pathways, which includes direct GP and A& E referrals as well as referrals from secondary care across a huge range of disciplines and specialties. Physioworks is a community based Musculoskeletal Service consisting of approximately 60 staff. You will be expected to contribute to the orthopaedic 7 day rota.

PhysioWorks is an 8am -8pm service, you may be asked to work an evening clinic.

You will receive training, teaching, supervision and mentoring from highly experienced practitioners and work in a fast-paced environment with a focus on progressive, evidence-based practice, clinical effectiveness, and research.

We are looking for a highly motivated Physiotherapist with a progressive, flexible attitude and a willingness to learn. You will have post-registration NHS experience sufficient to acquire core competencies in physiotherapy practice for respiratory, neurological, and MSK conditions.

The interviews will take place on the 2nd October and will be face to face. There will be a practical element to the interview.

Main duties of the job

The post holder is responsible for delivering high quality, specialist physiotherapy assessment and treatment and is responsible for supervision and teaching of therapy staff and students. They will contribute to operational management and service improvement and participate in audit and service evaluation in order to measure, evolve and develop clinical practice.

Sheffield Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust is a large tertiary centre. MSK Therapy outpatients and PhysioWorks are part of the MSK directorate. MSK Therapy outpatients deliver care within the hospital setting and PhysioWorks deliver care in community clinics, receiving MSK GP referrals.

Qualifications

Essential

  • BSc in Physiotherapy or equivalent
  • Current HCPC registration
  • Short Specialist post-registration training programmes


Experience

Essential

  • Post-registration experience of sufficient to acquire appropriate core competencies in Physiotherapy practice and the knowledge and skill to manage a complex specialist caseload in the chosen field


Desirable

  • Clinical Governance or Health & Safety, link worker
  • Member of special Interest Group
  • Fieldwork educators Course
  • Clinical Effectiveness course/Project
