Nottingham University Hospitals is in one of the UK's largest and busiest acute teaching hospital Trusts and has a national and international reputation for many of its specialist services and expertise. One of these services is Gastroenterology. The current post holder has been successful in gaining a new post with the wider expansion of the gastroenterology services at NUH and therefore this exciting opportunity has become available.
The successful post holder will become an integral part of the GastroenterologyMDT in helping with the management of the medications used within the condition.
The post holder will also provide leadership to the surgical pharmacy team at the Nottingham City Campus helping support the junior members of this team.
Main duties of the job
You will be responsible for working directly with our clinicians, nurse specialists and finance teams to deliver safe and effective treatment to patients within Gastroenterology at NUH.
This role provides an excellent opportunity for experienced, motivated clinical pharmacists to take on responsibility for an exciting, high profile clinical speciality which is very high on the national agenda.
As a senior member of the pharmacist team there will be the opportunity to help support and mentor the junior members of the team. You will be supported by the divisional lead pharmacist for surgery, advanced clinical practitioner for IBD as well as being able to call upon the support of the large pharmacy department at NUH.
The post will have involvement with the endoscopy units based throughout the trust as well as being involved in the delivery of parental nutrition to patients.
About us
The pharmacy department at NUH is forward thinking and constantly implementing innovative ways of working to deliver the best possible patient care. We continue to extend the ideal model of delivering medicines optimisation and pharmaceutical care where pharmacists are fully integrated into the medical teams, supported by a team of medicines management technicians and assistants.
You will be joining NUH at an exciting time as we have just recently transitioned to electronic prescribing bringing new opportunities to enhance the way in which we deliver care to our patients.
