NELFT place a great deal of importance on new starters being properly welcomed and inducted into the Trust. All new starters will join the Trust on the first Monday of each month and will undertake a comprehensive induction of up to two weeks which will include mandatory training, systems training and the allocation of equipment. As part of the process new starters will have the opportunity to also meet the executive team, senior managers and attend a number of drop in sessions focusing in engagement, health and wellbeing and key processes. This band 6 post is suitable for a Mental Health Nurse familiar in the assessment and review of people with memory problems and in supporting the delivery of post diagnostic group interventions to patients who have a diagnosis of dementia and to family carers. Redbridge Memory Service is a busy and high functioning service which operates Monday to Friday, 9.00am to 5.00pm.
Redbridge Memory Service is a Multi-disciplinary Team who provides excellent levels of care to Service Users and their Carers in the community. The successful candidate will have an interest in the needs of older adults and will have responsibility for a defined caseload utilising evidence-based practice and client centred principles in assessing, planning and implementation. He/she will have excellent verbal and written communication and IT skills.
We are looking for candidates who are registered Mental Health Nurses, who have an interest in working with older people, enjoy working in a team and are able to contribute positively to the teams continuous improvement culture.

- At least 1 year experience working in a healthcare service
- Must have mentorship training
- Memory service experience
- Registered Mental Nurse with at least 1 years experience
- An awareness of NHS Plan, NICE, NSF and clinical governance priorities
- Knowledge of medications used in treatment of dementia and BPSD
- Knowledge of dementia and relevant therapeutic interventions
- Basic awareness of IT and IT Skills
