An exciting opportunity has arisen for a motivated and enthusiastic Band 6 Infection Control Nurse/Practitioner to join the Infection Prevention and Control team. This is a secondment post will require you to assist the team in promoting and maintaining high standards of Infection, Prevention and Control practice within this acute Cardiothoracic setting and will be supported by the Infection Control senior nurses.
Main duties of the job
The role duties would include: patient ward rounds, managing microbiology results, advising and supporting staff with Infection Control issues, assisting with Infection Control audits and surveillance, teaching on related study days, meeting attendance and participation, exposure to external Infection Control study events and regional meetings, completion of RCAs, management and monitoring of outbreaks and strategic planning for the service.
In practice, the successful candidate will demonstrate an interest and knowledge of infection prevention and control. You will be experienced in caring for patients in a cardiothoracic setting and will demonstrate advanced communication and organisational skills

- Registered Nurse Educated to degree level or equivalent experience.

- Experience as a registered nurse in acute care environment.
