Graduate Trainee Mental Health Worker
There is an opportunity to join a strong team and receive a sponsored Post-Graduate Training course in Mental Health, with the advantage of receiving a subsidised salary.
Successful trainees have the opportunity to join an established programme, gain valuable working experience in Camden and Islington NHS Foundation Trust or Barnet Enfield and Haringey Mental Health NHS Trust (North London Mental Health Partnership) in dynamic services, and obtain a Post Graduate Diploma in Mental Health Practice qualification from Middlesex University.
Clinical experience is provided in both hospital and community settings in a range of different mental health service.
Main duties of the job
The programme length is 12 months. It is divided into 60% of time spent in clinical practice under North London's Mental Health Partnership NHS and 40% of time is spent at Middlesex University which is based in Hendon.

- A degree with an upper-second class (2:2) or above (proof required).
- Demonstrable interest and enthusiasm for studying mental health and delivering supervised practice.
- Have a passion for the delivery of first-class care in all areas of mental health.
- Possess good communication skills (verbal/written) and a motivation to develop these and receive training in CBT, MI and person-centered care.
- Be able to work in teams in busy multidisciplinary environments across different settings.
- Be able to balance and manage academic work, clinical placements, and personal commitments.
- Be well organized, reliable, flexible, self-motivated, caring, able to adapt to demanding but rewarding work environments, and willing to experience the surprising challenges of mental health working with diversity.
