- The purpose of this role is to support the delivery of the antenatal and newborn screening service at Oxford University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (OUHFT).
- To assist in the maintenance of the well-established infrastructure that delivers a level of service which is equitable, evidence based and consistent with the recommendations and standards of the UK National Screening Committee (UK NSC).
- To support the ANNB Screening Co-ordinator to deliver a high quality screening programme in line with best practice, guidelines and the NHS screening programmes national policy.
- To deputise for the Antenatal and Newborn Screening Coordinator.
Main duties of the job
- To support the ANNB Screening Coordinator to deliver the Antenatal and Newborn screening service.
- To work within the agreed infrastructures that will deliver a level of service that is equitable, evidence based and consistent with the recommendations and standards of the UK National Screening Committee (UK NSC).
- To assist in the monitoring of all failsafe system to identify, as early as possible, mothers and babies that may have missed or where screening results are incomplete.
- To work collaboratively and communicate appropriately with the wider multidisciplinary teams, involved Antenatal and Newborn screening service
- To undertake ad-hoc audits and reviews in a timely manner as requested by the ANNB Screening Coordinator.
- To support midwives and MSWs by delivering training and updating of nationally approved training programmes.
- To deputise for the Antenatal and Newborn Screening Coordinator.
- To work alongside the other Antenatal and Newborn Screening midwife.

- Registered Midwife with NMC PIN
- Educated to a minimum of degree level

- Previous antenatal and newborn screening experience

- Significant recent experience in midwifery
- Minimum 1 year at Band 6
- Experience/Knowledge of Antenatal and Newborn Screening pathways
