The Urology Theatres are based within a purpose-built suite comprising of a patient reception area, three operating theatres and a two-stage recovery area. The team is small and friendly and we pride ourselves on the personalised care we can offer to our patients.Currently the operating hours of the unit are Monday - Friday 7am to 7:30pm but working hours are currently under review as we are working hard to reduce the current waiting times for our patients.Main duties of the job
This is a busy unit, receiving patients on the day of their admission for surgery. The department provides surgical services for both Urology and elective Gynaecology. Venepuncture and ECG skills may be required during the admission process. You will be required to provide immediate post-operative recovery for our patients, including pain management, the administration of medication and provide care for patients undergoing chemotherapy treatment. You will also be required to manage the discharge of our patients both to the wards and also directly home from the department, arranging district nurse referrals and outpatient appointments.
